There are two ways to pass this trial. First, Jaeju must find the shadow or sacrifice three people. If they sacrifice the shadow, they survive. But if they guess wrong, the person they pick dies, and they move on to option two.
Option two is to sacrifice three people. The shadow’s goal is to make the group choose this option, even if they end up being picked as a sacrifice.
