A thousand years ago, the Undead King Leonis Death Magnus was the only demon lord left standing after the defeat of the other five. Eventually, a hero defeated Leonis, but before falling, he cast a spell and swore to destroy humanity when he woke up. It seems that demon lords often have a strong dislike for humans. The story takes a clichéd turn when Riselia Ray Crystalis accidentally breaks the seal on Leonis.
Leonis wakes up after a thousand years, but he is surprised to find himself in a child’s body. He looks so pitiful that Riselia thinks he’s a victim of monster attacks. As the story goes, Riselia is a beautiful girl, and she takes Leonis in, thinking he’s a lost child.
Leonis also receives a mission from the Goddess of Rebellion, whom he worships, to eliminate the monsters that appeared in the world during his slumber. This is unexpected because viewers now have many questions. Who is the Goddess, and why did she choose a reincarnated Demon Lord for this task?
What’s most intriguing is that the world has completely changed, so Leonis has a lot to learn. Despite having powerful abilities, his second life isn’t going smoothly. As the story unfolds, Leonis will probably keep his abilities hidden to avoid looking suspicious.
Watching his school life should be interesting because he’s a once-mighty demon lord interacting with children.
This series has a lot of potential due to its better world-building and writing compared to typical fantasy light novels. We hope it stays consistently entertaining until the end.
