In this chapter of “Surviving The Game as a Barbarian,” the story takes us inside the Tower where the characters have an important conversation. They’re discussing a powerful and rare thing called “essence,” and it’s making them worried about how it might affect the main character, Bjorn.
The characters want to make it clear that just eating this essence won’t automatically make you super strong or help you climb the Tower. They’re mostly concerned about finding this essence so suddenly and not knowing much about it.
One character, Ms. Raven, who’s a wizard, doesn’t quite get it, but the others do. As they talk, they also discuss what happens if things go wrong and how they can make up for it. Bjorn boldly suggests he should get a massive payment of fifteen million stones.
This request shocks the group because it shows how valuable this essence has become. They talk about how high prices are getting. The Tower’s people believe in many gods, but they also love spending money, which annoys Bjorn.
Bjorn even threatens to hurt someone if they don’t give him compensation, which is a big deal in the Tower, where people aren’t used to such direct threats.
But then, a new character named Bjorn Jandel appears, and he’s a big deal in the Tower. He’s like a regional head and has power over many floors. They thought they were in a private conversation, but he heard it all.
Surprisingly, Bjorn Jandel offers to make up for things without asking for money. He talks about giving them something called “Frost Spirit Gloves.” This shocks the group, and they start wondering if these gloves might be worth more than money. It turns out these gloves can hold the incredible powers of the essences they’ve found.
As they talk, Bjorn Jandel’s strange and funny personality shines through, adding some humor to the chapter. His offer makes Bjorn think about how he’s changed since entering the Tower.
The chapter ends with them discussing this offer and also mentioning the Barbarian of Freedom, a character who’s been making waves in the Tower recently. This brings the characters closer together and sets the stage for what’s to come.
