Season 16 Recap
In Season 16, not all mysteries were solved, and that kept us eagerly waiting for Season 17. William Murdoch was busy solving the case of a famous athlete who was killed with a spear. Meanwhile, Arthur and Hart had their eyes on the athlete’s father.
The last episode of Season 16, titled ‘The Long Goodbye Part 2,’ saw William quitting the Toronto Constabulary because he couldn’t agree with Edward’s methods. Then, Mathilda Crisp went missing, and her guardian asked William for help, but he initially declined.
However, when William learned about a big donation from the Crisp estate to the Women’s clinic, he changed his mind. While visiting Mr. Bently’s estate to express his gratitude, he discovered evidence of his skills as a detective and doctor.
What to Expect in Season 17
Season 17 continues the story in the late 1800s and early 1900s. William uses advanced forensic techniques like ultraviolet lighting and fingerprinting as he enters the new century.
In the previous season, there were some interesting developments. Miss Hart tampered with Watt’s water cup, and George’s last name continued to be misspelled even after his promotion. The season also introduced new Murdochian gadgets like a Weaponized Capacitor and a bolometer.
Season 17 Episodes
The first episode of Season 17, titled ‘Do the Right Thing, Part One,’ was released on October 2, 2023. In this episode, William, Ogden, and Crabtree get kidnapped, and the newly appointed inspector is tasked with finding them.
In the second episode, William and Ogden will debate whether a murderer deserves to be saved to protect their daughter. Meanwhile, they will take justice into their own hands by kidnapping a socialite.
The third episode will revolve around the theft of the Mona Lisa and a subsequent murder. While investigating, William meets an artist named Emily Carr.
