Former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni attended the 2023 US Open. He watched a tennis match between Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev.
The US Open’s official TV channel showed a short clip of Dhoni enjoying the game from the audience.
In an exciting match, the world’s number one player, Alcaraz, defeated a tired Zverev with a score of 6-3, 6-2, 6-4. Now, Alcaraz will face Daniil Medvedev in the semi-finals, setting up a clash between the last two champions of the US Open.
Zverev had to play a very long and exhausting match on Monday before facing Alcaraz, so there were doubts about how well he would perform. However, he couldn’t keep up with Alcaraz’s pace, and Alcaraz won easily.
Alcaraz had only four opportunities to break Zverev’s serve during the whole match, but he took advantage of each one.
It appears that Dhoni is a fan of Alcaraz because he was seen in the stands at the US Open last year with Kapil Dev as well.
