The official word is out: a brand new Dragon Ball anime is on the way! It’s coming in 2024 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Dragon Ball. At first, we thought it might be called “Magic,” but it turns out it’s called “Dragon Ball Daima.” Daima sounds like something dark and mysterious, like magic gone wrong.
At the New York Comic Con 2023, Toei Animation shared some big news. They’re making a new anime series, and it’s bringing back some of our favorite characters from Dragon Ball Z, like Goku, Bulma, and Vegeta. But here’s the twist: all these characters will be kids, just like we saw in Dragon Ball GT.
What’s the Scoop on Dragon Ball Daima?
The executive producer, Akio Iyoku, spilled the beans at the event. He said that the series is going to be unique and that Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, was really hands-on this time. They’re cooking up a whole new story for us.
They also showed a trailer for Dragon Ball Daima, which gave us a glimpse of the Dragon Ball history. It seems like there will be some demons in the show, which is pretty exciting. We’ve had some demon characters before, like the Buus and the Majins, but this looks different.
The trailer starts in a spooky, castle-like place, maybe in Hell. Then, there’s a mysterious Time Chamber with two potential bad guys. One of them might be Demigra or maybe a Supreme Kai. We’re not sure yet, but it’s intriguing.
The animation in this series looks top-notch, much better than what we saw in Dragon Ball Super. They might already have ten episodes ready, but we can’t confirm that yet.
Akira Toriyama teased that there’s a big plot to weaken our heroes. That’s why they all turn into kids, including Goku, Bulma, and even Piccolo. We can’t wait to see how their powers will change in this new form.
